Mechanical to electronic injection
This winter finds me deep into converting the Bosch CIS mechanical injection on the Scirocco to electronic. I've had to pull information and parts from many sources to make it all work and I haven't even got to the programming yet, which is a whole new area for me.
So far the list includes overall help and direction from fellow racer Dave Boles at Atlantic Auto Works who also supplied the ignition trigger wheel and modified GM coil pack. Matt Cramer at DIY Auto Tune for the customized V3 Megasquirt, wiring and sensors. CIS to electronic injector inserts from 034 Motorsports. VW Digifant fuel rail and injectors sourced from Ebay. Custom length plug wires by Magnecor. Machining and TIG welding at Ed DaSilva Racing. Plus various bits of plumbing, electronics, mounting hardware, induction tubing and wiring supplies from Pegasus, Autosports Labs, Treadstone Performance and The Electrical Depot.
The injectors, fuel rail, wide band O2 sensor/gauge and coils are fitted. As soon as the package from Pegasus with the vibration mounts for the ECU arrives I'll be diving into the 37 pin wiring harness. More to come.
